CharityCall and AT&T Wireless Engage Cell Phone Users in Philanthropy Via Speed-Dial Contributions

Washington, D.C. (March 2, 2009)-AT&T and Global Action for Children are teaming up with Truist and CharityCall, a revolutionary mobile platform enabling charitable organizations to accept donations from over 75-million AT&T Wireless users.

"Most people recognize the plight of vulnerable children worldwide, but do not always have the time or the access to support the issues. This innovative media campaign allows our donors the flexibility to securely contribute anywhere and everywhere," said Jennifer Delaney, Executive Director of Global Action for Children.

AT&T subscribers in the U.S. can conveniently contribute $25 to Global Action for Children from any AT&T mobile device without entering an SMS text or exchanging private financial or user information. Donations can be made in less than 30 seconds, by dialing #505 followed by Global Action for Children's 2-digit I.D., 11.

Once a tax-deductible $25 donation is made, the AT&T Wireless user will receive a text message confirmation, including a link to the CharityCall website, where additional information and tax receipts are available. The $25 donation is a one-time charge automatically billed to the user's AT&T Wireless monthly statement.

"An increasing percentage of the mobile user population recognizes the value of adopting the use of instant communication technology, as exhibited by 158 billion text messages sent in 2006 alone," said CharityCall Founder & President Robert A. Jones. "Yet millions of intended donations continue to fall victim to procrastination, inconvenience or neglect. Our convenient mobile platform bridges that gap.
